Thanksgiving 1945
The 97th Infantry Division was performing occupation duty in Japan on Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 22, 1945. The images shown are from the menu for the 386th Infantry Regiment's Thanksgiving dinner. During this holiday season, we should all take a few moments to give thanks to all of the veterans who were far from home on Thanksgiving and Christmas during the war. Let's also not forget all of those currently in the service, spending the holidays away from their families. Also, go here for a very nice piece on "What Is A Vet?"
