My name is Terry Plaisted, although I am not a veteran of the 97th, my father was. My father, Wendell Plaisted, was transfered to the 97th when it was reactivated in 1943. He served with the 303rd Regiment, L Company the entire time until he was discharged in 1946. After he passed away in 1986 I became curious about his time in the Army. While trying research the 97th Inf Div I kept running into dead ends, there was very little information available. I decided to collect as much information as possible and then make it available to anyone that was interested. This website has three purposes. First, to honor all of those who served with the 97th. Second, to help veterans "tell their story", and reconnect with old friends. Finally, to help others that want to know about the 97th. I am always interested in receiving more information, please feel free to contact me. I assume that any information that I receive is intended for publication on the website unless requested otherwise. I will always honor any request not to publish material that is provided to me. All of the photos on this site should be considered the property of those who provided them and should not be copied without their consent. Please understand that I don't always have as much time as I would like for working on this project. I apologize if I don't always respond immediately, sometimes I just get overwhelmed. Please contact me any time with your questions, comments, or suggestions about the content of this site. I look forward to hearing from you. Site Editor,
